Red flags are warnings that you should use caution in an adoption situation. This workshop will provide valuable information whether you are beginning or already are in the process of advertising, networking and speaking with birthparents. The discussion will address potential scams, emotions and legalities that may suggest an underlying problem for which adoptive parents must be aware.

THE ADOPTION HOME STUDY:  WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN THE HOME STUDY PROVIDER COMES   

Guest Speaker: Leslie Zindulka, LCSW-R, Adoption Social Worker, Adoptive Parent 

This informational workshop will provide you with valuable information on how to prepare for the home study and home visit. Educate yourself about various advertising options for those pursuing independent adoption and what the process is for countries that are open for international adoption. Topics will include: what questions will the social worker ask, what documents will you need to have ready for the social worker, how the pre-certification process works and what to expect from the post placement visit after that special day when you bring your child home. This informative discussion will address any and all issues or concerns related to the home study visit.  Come with questions.
