President's Column

Well it's amazing how fast two years pass! Let's not even talk about how fast 13 years have passed since my daughter, Abigail, was born in Arizona!! I've been active in APC for almost 15 years now, but I can say that these past 2 years have been some of my most rewarding. A new and wonderful meeting location, a fantastic and successful conference, and a growing attendance at our monthly meetings.
Now that my term as NYC President nears it's end and we look forward to Candle lighting on June 11th, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all those people who have actively helped to make everything we now enjoy possible. Laura, MaryBeth, Joe, Herman, Lynore, Tony, Geoffrey, Rich M, Sam who have and continue to support those efforts, and Carol, Lois, Rich R, Annie, Paul who have helped in so many ways. There are many others who have given their time, ears and hearts to help make APC the group that it is today!
June is a special month at APC, we celebrate our annual Candlelighting event. This is the time that all of our members who have been blessed with a child coming into their family, join together to light candles as a celebration of that occasion. Those of our members who are still waiting use this event to light a "Wish Candle", looking forward to the day that they will bring their child to an APC meeting to introduce their "pride and joy" to our chapter family. With every candle that is lit, the glow seem to warm the hearts of everyone attending!
Please join us on June 11th at Candlelighting so you too stand in the glow of our Candlelighting, and welcome our new leadership team headed by Co-Presidents, Barbara & Sam Pitkowsky.
